How Apple release of iOS 14.5 to the public will affect your business and how to prepare for it

This topic was triggered by several requests from our clients, stating that other agencies and tech companies were trying to sell them the solution a as a service for the iOS 14.5 matter. We believe that this should be free as it does not require any talent or technical expertise to solve it and prepare for the change.

So, If you are not aware. Apple’s policy will prohibit certain data collection and sharing unless people opt into tracking on iOS 14 devices via the prompt.

It is likely expected to see the final version of iOS 14.5 sometime in April or May 2021


So before, when apple users, either on mobile devices, laptops or desktop computers, they could navigate without any interruptions from data collection prompt messages. So what is the downsize of new policy of iOS 14.5?

As more people opt out of tracking on iOS 14 devices, ads personalization and performance reporting will be limited for both app and web conversion events. This means that you will not have essential data or trustworthy data to retarget with ads, or deliver your content to people who are actually interested in your products or services.

What are the available solutions and actions to take in order to be prepared for the iOS 14.5 update?

1. Just stop targeting apple users with Facebook ads

This is the safest and more efficient way in case your business rely a lot on traffic and conversions from Ads. And use apple advertising platform to deliver your ads to apple users.

3. Use google analytics data to monitor and verify your Facebook data

This will be the most effective way to keep the integrity of your targeting, but it is the most time consuming. Not difficult technicality wise, but you will need to spend some time comparing data and alter it on Facebook so it can always stay close to the one on Google analytics.
